Mission

The mission of JNES is to establish the basis to ensure the nuclear safety in nuclear utilization for energy by performing the safety analysis, evaluation, etc. of the design of nuclear installations and nuclear reactor facilities, while conducting the inspection etc. of nuclear installations and nuclear reactor facilities.

Major Activities

(1) Inspection on nuclear installations and reactor facilities, etc.
(2) Analysis and evaluation of safety on nuclear installations and reactor facilities
(3) Activities for nuclear emergency preparedness and response etc.
(4) Investigation, tests and research to ensure nuclear safety in the framework of energy utilization
