Scientific Visits
   Following Two Scientific Visits are scheduled. Only officially designated participants to the conference will be able to register for any one or both of them. In terms of security, REGISTRATION FORM FOR SCIENTIFIC VISITS for all applicants is required to be sent by 15 August 2005. Acceptance notice will be informed to applicant as soon as possible after getting necessary clearance. Because of the maximum acceptable capacity for scientific visits, the acceptance will be in the application order.
 
A) Tokai-mura   (max. capacity: 80 persons)
Half day bus trip on Friday afternoon, 7 October
 
 
Decommissioning site of a commercial gas cooled reactor tokaiNPP

  Interim storage of radioactive waste due to decommissioning activities
   
Facility for LLW treatment in Tokai NPP (No2)

 1 Movement from the Venue to JAPC in Tokai-mura 12:00 - 14:00 2 chartered buses will be used for transportation. Departure time depends on the closing time of the conference. If early departure is possible, lunch will served in the buses.
 2 Tokai GCR and Tokai NPP No2 of JAPC 14:00 - 17:30 Site tour will be done in small group-wise.

Return from Tokai-mura to Tokyo Station Bus Terminal or the Venue in Odaiba

17:30 - 20:00 Traveling time depends on traffic congestion.
Fare for Participants is free. Also please note that the actual facilities to be visited and schedule may be subject to unavoidable change.
 
B) Rokkasho-mura   (max. capacity: 80 persons)
    One day trip by rail (bullet train) and bus on 8 October

 2 Movement from Hachinohe Station to JNFL in Rokkasho-mura 11:15 - 12:45 2 chartered buses will be used for transportation. Lunch will be served in the buses.
 3 JNFL 12:45 - 16:00 Site tour will be done in small group-wise

 4 Movement from JNFL in Rokkasho-mura to Hachinohe Station 16:00 - 17:40 2 chartered buses will be used for transportation.
 5 Return from Hachinohe Station to Tokyo Station by Bullet Train "Hayate" 17:58 - 21:08 Scientific visitors group will be dismissed at Tokyo station.
Fare per person is about 26,400 yen (about US$238). Also please note that the actual facilities to be visited and schedule may be subject to unavoidable change.
 
   Tickets for bullet train to the site will be available through the travel agency, JTB Corp. Fare will be paid in advance by credit card or remittance. Purpose of Scientific Visits:
